hey everybody im just wondering if you got any eastern water skinks would you show me a few pics of your tank set up just lookling for some more ideas :))
Not long got back from a 7500klm adventure. Took this pic of a Skink of some breeding eating a yabbie I threw up on the bank while fishing. Any ideas what it is?? It was on a river near the Vic NSW boarder.
I cant be the only one who has random bloopers come out of their mouth, my wife does it all the time.
Todays classic, referring to an eastern water skink who frequents our outdoor Dunny.
"I know you love that little skank but she needs to go .... she looks at me while i pee"

So this arvo I walked into my bathroom to wash my hands after handling my beardie and I turn around and see a little face poking out of my shower drain, I unscrewed the grate and took a photo before trying to pull him out, unfortunately he got spooked and dived deep down and haven't seen him in...

Just rescued this little fella, minus his tail, from a neighbourhood cat. Anyone able to tell me what he is?
Also I'm faced with a little dilemma, lots of cats around here including ferals in the bushland behind us who pretty much live on what they can catch, should I release him back here or...
I would love to see pics of wild animals that people have caught on camera themselves all in the one spot, i will start as soon as i have some, so hopefully we can see some cool animals in their natural evironment and give people another reason to get outdoors!!!
Cheers Mo :D
hey.
I came across this site while googling reptile types and thought it would be a great place to ask some questions... I've never had a reptile as a pet before, but always found them fascinating. I've had fish (freshwater and marine), dogs, cats, birds and everything inbetween, but never a...
Here it is (I think it's about 10 day's to 2 weeks old).
I wanted to call it Minnie but my wife thinks that's a stupid name.
And yes - I am planning on befriending it and am already starting to offer it food treats (leaving dead mutant mealworm beetles to eat in a little treat dish).
It...
Also my first time bush walking alone, had an awesome time tho, although I'm going to be bloody sore in the morning lol
Had my first ever encounter with a wild snake and it just happened to be a gorgeous eastern brown (i think) crappy photos but i found him in a bit of a tight spot on the trail...
The support I have received with my latest patient has inspired me to start a thread for you to post your wildlife encounters. Have you got photos of animals you have rescued? Even if they were simple catch and release jobs, let us see them :D
And of course I'll start it off with my two...
My house is not connected to the power grid. i rely on solar and water power. I gave away all my snakes and stuff before i moved here because 200 or so watts of power on 2/3 of the day is not an option (i have a back-up generator but it's noisy etc).
My question is- is there any lizard that i...
Been giving her medium live and dead mealworms (no more than 3 or 4 every few days), medium live and dead crickets (1 every few days), she is known to catch and eat cockroaches.
I have from time to time given her bits of diced cooked turkey, chicken, beef, lamb, even bits of cooked prawn and...
I often offer my Cunningham's live crickets but the crickets seem to always get away. I don't want to waste my money on crickets if they are all going to escape and I was wondering if there was a type of container or similiar to keep live insects in while my Cunningham's gorge themselves. So...
After reading the article in S&T on reptile caging i was inspired to do some renovating on some of my enclosures, here are some piccies i also gave my het a new hiding place. :) (taken off the Iphone hence the quality of the pics)
VERY VERY PLEASED
SUCCESS - I hand fed Lizzy some mealworms today for the first time.
She came straight up to me only stopping momentarily to look me in the eyes and then crawled onto my outstretched fingers up to where the worm was took it, crawling off my fingers and a few inches away to...
Hi all so I was looking through threads and noticed that amazing enclosure that just plain nuts has on show with the aquarium in the bottom. I was just wondering how many people have that in an enclosure, what sort of snakes they have in it and if they have turtles or fish in there? Has anyone...
Managed to download the best photos of the reptiles found last summer in the rouse hill region NSW. Hope everyone likes them, saw alot of black snakes but i only managed to get one photo which isnt very good (And the bark on the black snake pic is not me poking it just happened to be there)

Now there are definitely at least two totally differing opinions on this topic
It would be great to get well thought out answers to this
As far as I can find there is zero scientific proof that they dont have emotions
There is also zero scientific proof that they do have emotions
So that...
hi all. just wondering what your reptiles name is and if there is any reason for this. i recently got two snakes. a darwin for the mrs and a jungle for me. the mrs called hers SAM (just coz) and says its a good name. yet i had to go through 40+ until she agreed on DIMIT. think you should guess...
I was talking to a friend who used to own one and she said she had a little pond that she would put feeder fish into. I had never considered dragons eating fish before and haven't really seen any care sheets that say it. So just wondering if anyone else does it and is it a staple or just a treat?
When my little mate Lizzy the skink wakes up and gets active again, I plan on providing him (?) with some live treats (mealworms) a few times a week to keep him (?) hanging about and build my relationship with Lizzy a bit more.
I'm hoping Lizzy will eventually become some confortable about my...
Hi'
We've been adopted by a young striped skink who kinda moved in and decided to live in our house with us back in November. He's about 10" long and looks like he's very happy and healthy (thriving) living with us.
Here's his photo. Yes I have been giving him food treats every so often, he...
Hello everyone,
This has been a busy year for me at work and I have not been out much. I have only been up to Royal National Park a couple of times this summer. One of those trips was on Good Friday. The weather was mild and sunny so I decided to go on a bush walk up at Royal. I love the...
