Heyy all, wanting another python for my b"day next year. It will be my second and i cant decide between, a common tree snake (the expensive one), a water python (the snappy one) or a coastal carpet python (the big one) . Also i cant get all three.
Thanks, ssnakeboyy
had this little guy for about a month, iv just been letting him settle in and try get him to eat regularly, have only started handling him daily this week to get him calm so i thought i would try get some snaps, the photos dont do his colours justice cause he is gorgeous, if only his personality...

go a call today from my mother in distress about a snake (didn't know what type) that was caught in some netting it had eaten one of her baby ducks. So i went around and cut the water python free
as i was doing it it started regurgitating the duck.
So guys, basically I'm addicted to snakes and my room is literally like flooded with them. But despite that i am getting a new one for a Christmas present. Hoping you guys can help me with the decision and if you guys have any breeding projects just tell me about them. I already have a GTP, JCP...
About three years ago I responded to an add for a "baby aussie python". I purchased him and did some research and came to the conclusion that it was an olive python. Now I am realizing it could be a water python. How can I tell the difference? They look the same to me. Thanks.

Hi, my Bredli is a couple of years old and every now and again she feeds but doesn't actually eat.
She's obviously hungry, and has been in her ambushing position every night for a while. She strikes immediately and constricts the rat (defrosted and warmed up). But she doesn't eat it, next...

Hi all.
My python is not leaving her hide at all obviously cause it's nice and dark and warm. I have a basking spot up top which she only uses at night. If I remove hide down the bottom that is on top of heat mat and even possibly turn it off and leave hide will this stress her to much as she...

HI guys
Heading up to Darwin in a few weeks for a week visit.
Never been before but really want to get out to Kakadu and a few other places and see some wildlife.
Just wondering what the best way to see it would be are there any good tours or am I better off hiring a car / 4wd for a day or two...
Can we please spread the news and keep an eye out for these animals, if we post on facebook and other media to try and help find these reptiles for this family.:(
Thanks

Two American alligators and six pythons have been stolen during a break-in at a zoo in the New South Wales Hunter region overnight.
Police say the reptiles were taken from Hunter Valley Zoo at Nulkaba sometime between 6pm on Sunday and 8am on Monday.
Officers say the alligators, which are 60cm...
Well, one of my boys resumed feeding about 4 weeks ago, and the other started about a week ago.
Both of the boys have struck the clear plastic panels with such force that I was, at least for a minute, worried they would keep striking and end up either cracking the clear plastic insert of those...

Recently (as early as the very early am) a thread was presented about what you don't like about aussie snakes.
Someone who shall remain nameless (sax) suggested antaresia were extremely ugly and boring.
But the one thing that came extremely clear to me, when owning antaresia, was their...

I've got an idea for an enclosure for my python but I don't think the dimensions will be big enough.
It's quite high, 1.8m but made up of cubes. Essentially a huge series of 45cm cubes, individually sectioned. 3 cubes will be "fish tanks", dark cubes, cubes that are hidden, light cubes, heat...
Hey everyone,
I have a 4x2x2 tank and I was thinking about getting a Keelback in it, only thing is I don't know much about them? I have tried to find care sheets and things for them but can't seem to find any,
So and help would be appreciated,
Things like.. Water condition.. Ph/gh water...
There is just about a thread for every other species so why not start a thread for the olives and water pythons. They are both really cool so why not show them off.
Hey everyone, I was just wondering about people's water python enclosures. I know because water pythons get to a good size you need a large enclosure but you also need a swimming pool thing for the snake as well. So Melamine enclosures would be out of the question as they would get wrecked...
Not sure if this is a natural prefrence but my 2 yo childrens python never uses any climbing equiptment in her enclosure, She will prefer to sit on top of her hides and wrap around her water bowl but never climbs ? The climbinb equiptment is very large and easy to get to and there is no sharp...
Hey, I am thinking about getting a new snake soon. And would like to know from you experienced people of APS what snake is the best to feed and handle. Out of a Coastal, Olive, Black Headed Darwin carpet, water python or a cape York carpet. This probably seems stupid, but I would like your...

hi all just wondering is snakes really need UV? just because some big breeders that i have seen have kept in racking but there's no bulbs in there just a heating cord. but then as you see more of their collection they have the same species that are in bigger tanks with bulbs?.
Hi All
I have 3 pythons, 2 of which were being fed on mice when I bought them. Whilst the transition from mice to rats was very easy for one of them (I simply heated her up a rat and she took it), the other is a quieter snake and has rejected rats every time I have tried to feed them to her...
Right, so basically I have been given the task to calm down a scrub python. He's sitting at around 1.5m at the moment (I've never taken him out for a good look) which is small on the scrub scale, but sizable enough to give a decent bite. I usually wouldn't ask about handling, but for such a...
Just need to share my pain
My beautiful Water Python, Hannibal, died yesterday. He was only around 3.5 years old. I found him curled up in his water bowl yesterday, dead.
