As there isn't really that much info out there about cunning hams and their localities, i thought id start this thread.
I have an (unproven) pair or adult New England Cunninghams (the larger ones in the pictures), bought at this years VHS expo
I also have an unknown locality Cunningham, bought...
Mine did this morning for the first time (and hopefully last) at about 4am. I was fast asleep and woke up out of instinct I guess, then heard a noise and went over to inspect to find Amity was 3/4 through a hole in the wall. I grabbed her tail and tried to slow her moving down while I tried to...
Hi all,
I have just recently rescued two baby water dragons from my dogs which I'm guessing they have not long hatched from their eggs, was wondering y they would be this close to my home to start with but have a feeling it would have a lot to do with the construction that has been happening, I...
I went to the Castle Hill Reptile Expo last month, had no intention of getting a new reptile at all but I happened to win an Eastern Water Dragon hatchy - thanks mainly to the enthusiastic group I went with and the fact that the bloke holding the contest tipped the odds in my favour. Caught up...

I have an adult eastern water dragon, we think he is about 10 years old. We've had him for about 3-4 years and I'm interested in trying to hand tame him. He is quite placid and I have picked him up once and he only struggled a little. I was wondering what extra things I could do to make it more...

We have an Eastern Water Dragon (well we think that's what he is anyway) who lives under our porch, and we've noticed that he has some strange markings on his tail. At first, we thought it looked as though he may have been attacked by another lizard, but recently it has become worse and spread...

I rescued a baby lizard from my pool. I get a few of the same sort every now and then. I think its an eastern water dragon, but they always seem a little worse for wear after i get them out. Could pool chemicals or something be affecting them?
Hey a few years ago someone on this site was saying they had an albino eastern water dragon they had pictures and seemed to be for real but I m not sure could have been photoshoped I guess but what I guess I m asking is if anyone knows if it was a real albino and if it ever bred

So I purchased a second hand glass terrarium, it needs new doors.
I measured it up, got them cut, but one of the doors is about 1.5mm too small to fit in the tracks, it just sits in there but if you so much as look at it the wrong way it falls out.
The glass man tells me there's a 2mm leeway...
I have read reports of wild populations of red eared sliders and other exotic reptiles mainly in NSW, but has anybody here actually encountered one? Whether it be in there backyard or anywhere else?
So today for the first time since we moved to Port Macquarie 22 years ago we went to the Billabong Animal Park, i won't bore ya'll with a animal by animal narrative but at lunch time we were feeding bits of sausage to a medium size EWD when along came another 1 about double the size of the...

Hi all. So kale is on special at the supermarket this week. I know it's supposed to be a super food for humans, but can I feed it to my blue tongue? Would be a good alternative to silverbeet and bok choy if it's safe for him to eat...
Hi
I am planning on converting my very large professionally built finch aviary into a reptile aviary. It is 3m x 3m x 3m and is absolutely mouse proof as it is secured with colorbond sheeting and snake wire. It has a concrete paved floor with drainage. After making some initial inquiries on...
Hey all,
I'm really getting into herping but have had no real luck except for some EWD's in a waterway near a mates place which I knew would be there.
I've tried a number of places by myself and had no luck and honestly, herping by myself is really not much fun and not really the safest option...
Last night n tonight one of my EWD's has started jumping on the back of another, opening mouth as in preparing to bite.
So far I believe these both to be female, but may be too early to tell.
Is this a sign of aggression? Or is it possible these are male n female? The one jumping on the...

So I'm a rather restless person, and now that I'm finished with my EWD enclosure, I want to build something else. Whether I use it for myself (most probable), or sell/give it away afterwards, I'm not sure yet.
I'm looking at converting a corner TV Cabinet. My concern is getting the correct temp...
Hi everyone, I took all my water dragons out of their enclosure this afternoon to give it a clean. They are all about 100mm SVL. While taking them out, I noticed one of them had a kink in its tail near the base! I am wondering what to do as I can't seem to find a lot of info on the topic. The...
Hey all.
I flew up to NSW last week for some herping around the Hunter Valley with a few mates.
After getting off the plane, we went for a poke around some spots in Newcastle.
First finds were a young Marsh Snake and She-oak Skink.
Marsh Snake (Hemiaspis signata) by Matt Clancy Wildlife...

EWD & Saw shell sharing a tank - Opinions and ideas
So, I am new to this site. I'm no herp expert and would say I'm novice but do my best with research and running around. I'm almost 21 and I currently own a 18 month old saw shelled turtled called Chops as seen in my 'introductions' thread...
G'day Cobbers :P
My name is Mariah and I'm 21 soon. As everyone on here does, I love animals and reptiles especially. I am also a passionate car enthausiast.
I own a saw shelled turtle called Chops, he currently lives with 4 Jack Dempseys, 1 Salmon Tail Catfih, 1 Pleco and will be getting a...
We read every week here on the forum tales of intelligence or feelings attributed to our cold blooded friends, and on the whole every suggestion of this is pooh pooed by the mainstream members who use science and fact as their yardstick, but i would like to put forward some personal experience i...
A few photos of my poly tank pit. Housing a female lacey and male spencers. Just to keep with the natural Australian theme ,i put a insulated Myan Chitzen Itza pyramid in the middle of it.
Hey all,
One of my EWD's has a kink in its tail, only near the tip, doesn't bother it in the slightest. Something to worry about? Best photo I've got to give an idea as to the angle:
Obviously it's the further one ;-)
Hi everyone,
It's been a very long time since I have posted on aps, and first time poster in lizards. Anyway, I have four juvenile EWD's and I was wondering if anyone has had some success with safe ways of telling their dragons apart. E.g. Marking, some sort of tag, etc.
it is no big problem...

Wow this sudden cold snap in Brisbane has made finding anything decent to look at Herp wise, even the Aussie Pythons at the Australia Zoo have gone into hiding except for 1 amazing looking Water Python and a huge Coastal about 3m, checked out a few likely looking places around Beerwah and...
Hey everyone where is the best place to get glass sliding doors. Just wondering as I need some for my DIY as i usually use perspects but I have only ever made small enclosures and realise perspects is quite bendy! So where the best place at?
