Hi All

Was cleaning one of my enclosures today and had the yearling Bredli in a starmaid tub whilst cleaning. Well I couldn't have had the lid on properly and now have a Hypo Bredli on the loose. I have looked everywhere, uprooted lounges, under fridges, beds and cupboards to no avail.

He cant get out of the house and was hoping someone might have an idea on how to capture the elusive escapee please.

Thanks in advance
Julie

There was a sticky thread about this subject, but I can't seem to find it.

Typing escaped snake/lost snake/find snake into the search function in the top right corner will bring up some threads that might be helpful.

Some members have put up some good ideas in these threads, it's just a matter of sifting through the info.

Good luck.

i heard a statistic that they are usually found within 2m or something rediculous like that. so look everywhere within the IMMEDIATE surroundings. being a hatchie probably went for the closest hide he could find and stayed there. depends on when he last ate also. if he rescently had a meal, he will definately be very close. theres threads on here about it where some people have genious ideas. theres the plastic bags on the floor trick so you can hear them moving around. theres flour on the floor so you can see tracks. theres putting a rat or mouse on a heat mat so there is both food scent and heat coming ffrom the same place. then watch it during the night. plenty of good ideas.

Put some talcum powder on the floor and check in the morning if there are tracks.

flour is a much cheaper alternative and i would think do the same job (plus most houses have tonnes). finer sugars would also not stain if you have carpet but im not sure how effective they would be (i assume just as).

not arguing with you naledge, as i agree talc would work, just offering alternatives

Try putting some hid boxes around area, a mouse or 2 in i or two, check with torches at night, turn un-nec lights off, first night they are usually scared 2 -3rd be aware any noise ect,he won;t be far,

Well guys thanks for all the ideas. He was fed 2 days ago 2 days old quails so I'm guessing he'll look for somewhere warm to curl up for a few days. I've put a heat mat down with his 2 enclosure hides just in case. I've spent about 6 hours looking absolutely everywhere, the little buggers got me stumped. I've done a fair bit of reading of all the posts here on AP and they all seem to turn up so heres hoping. Thanks again for all the ideas.
