I got a new bredli a week ago.. And today with his first handle he was very jumpy and hissed flat out and one hiss he did bumbles comes out of his mouth, is that just him being worked up or is that something serious?

Hi - bubbles are abnormal - your python most likely has a respiratory infection. Given their low basal metabolic rate, he could have had this for some time, and a sudden change in conditions - for example, your cage is too cool - will bring the symptoms on quickly.
Keep him warm - that is very important - and take him to a knowledgable vet as soon as you can. He will require some antibiotics as soon as possible.
cheers

Everybody immediately jumps on the RI bandwagon... it may well be RI, but it could just as well indicate that the snake has had a drink in the previous hour or two, and when agitated the water, thick with NORMAL mucus, runs back up the oesophagus. This is especially likely with a snake which has become agitated and defensive.

Before you rush off to the vet, just make sure your temps are OK, tongue-flicking is frequent and normal, and if the snake is feeding, it won't be RI.

As I said, as a new acquisition, it is possible that it has a respiratory infection, but don't jump to conclusions. Look for other symptoms as I suggest. It concerns me that there are so many armchair vets with no experience but who are prepared to make random diagnoses on APS now - perhaps it's because reptile keeping is becoming more mainstream and very few people who aspire to keep these creatures have any understanding of the fundamental physiologies of reptiles.

You make a fair point Jamie but I think the armchair vet call is a bit harsh. If it were me and my snake blew bubbles I would be very concerned and probably my first reaction would be to drop down to the vet or more likely one of my very experienced herp friends and get the snake looked at for my peace of mind if nothing else.

More to the point I think Hedge needs to give us a bit more info. Have you fed the snake since you got it? What temps is your setup running? How old is the snake? What type of enclosure is it being kept in? What was it's behaviour like when you got it and did you have to shift it from a clickclack to your own enclosure? Did you notice whether it had been drinking prior to you wanting to get it out? Sometimes the little details can help the more experienced people on here to give you a better thought out answer.

The top enclosure is his.. His cage is bout 30 at the hot end and 26 at the cool end, I didn't notice him drinking before I got him out but I was out so not to sure.. He's a male bredli turned 1 2 weeks ago

Not to sure what he was in before I got him.. He doesn't seem settled in at all I'm not to sure how to completely settle him in.. I haven't fed him since I got him.. I was going to on Sunday but not to sure if I should or not?

I'd suggest turning the hot end up to about 32 as Bredlis come from fairly arid and hot areas.

Apart from keeping an eye on the bubbling... Curtain off his enclosure for the better part of a week so he isn't getting stressed by constant movement past his enclosure this will help get him settled. Don't try handling him for at least another week and see how you go.

Cheers mate my first snake I got was also a bredli but she was so tame and never has bitten so this one is very different just hope he will calm down

He'll be fine, just give him time. Snakes are just very different and need a bit of patience. The main thing is to keep an eye on his breathing to make sure it isn't anything serious but otherwise just peace and time.
