We get enough crap now just imagine what it would be like if it was not moderated. Poor David works his fingers to the bone, in fact all the mods do a great job except me cos I am not to computer savvy

I wouldn't know.
I have never seen it unmoderated. I am happy with it the way it is though so yeah, moderated is fine. The only thing I don't like about it being moderated is that every time I go to read a post that has been moderated I am dying to know what was said !!! My daily fix of Drama =)

I think the the moderators at times get to personal.If something is said they don't agree with it's not allowed to be said and if your not someone they like then you are given a hard time.There are definate favourites AND FAR TO MANY SUCKUPS AT TIMES,becomes a bit umbearable.

heh! We'll NEVER make everyone happy - it's a fact of life when there are this many members. We do our best to remain impartial. Believe me, we don't punish people just because we don't agree with them - never have, as far as I can remember. We take action when the rules are consistently breached.
It may appear, sometimes, that we jump on someone who breaches the rules in a small way. Generally we overlook small breaches, but when we do take action, it's usually after repeat offences, and usually after warnings have been given. Some people just can't admit they're wrong, no matter what. The rules are pretty clear.
... In fact, we've been too lenient sometimes, but hey! That's just the kind of people we are! :wink:
The admins aways discuss problems before we take any action, and it's always with regret when we do.
The new procedures we have put in place to check new members may result in a drop in new memberships, as it now takes longer to process memberships before they're approved, and some people won't take the risk of providing verification details. Still, we'd rather have a smaller, well behaved group than let in troublemakers. Let's see how it goes, eh? :wink:

I think the moderators do ok... considering some of the crap that they are dealt from time to time. Sometimes I get a bit grumpy when something interesting has been edited... but then I remember that kids access this site so I understand.

A couple of recent evictions were given fair warning before shown the door. In the past, I have been sucked into arguments with some of the merkins and I have been warned. I try to avoid arguing with them now even though it is hard sometimes as I am a smartarse.
I reckon the mods have been too lenient up til now, some of the crap posted could of been nipped in the bud. The recent moderation shift is a welcome change.
Ps. I hope this site never ends up like that yahoo one. I rarely go there anymore as wading through all the rubbish is just too frustrating.
