I think they end up contributing to landfill, at least they are biodegradable.
Although i dont condone it ( cat killing ), he is doing the natives a good service and if i see cats in my yard i will do the same.

Our resident ta-ta's eggs hatched 2 days ago and we now have little ta-ta's in the yard, i would hate to see them go due to a cat.

Responsable cat owners should have their aniamls locked up at night anyway.

And during the day but most people don't.

There are enough unwanted litters for snake food rather than feeding your snakes animals that could have any disease. Most petshops have them dumped at the door and then there's the pound for cats where i guess you could source them from for food as well.

Well I have put down quite a few cats in my day working with the rspca and all.

To my understanding it is fully legal to feed cats to snakes and if I came across a healthy one that had died I would not hesitate using it as snake food. If it was wild caught I would not risk the snakes health and if they were advertised as healthy and free to good home I dont really think a snakes stomach counts.

I guess its just personal opinion if you feel comfortable taking a litter of kittens and knocking them on the back of the head for snake food then I wouldnt think bad of you.
On the matter of ferals and strays, I dont condone cat owners letting there cats out of the house but if they do they should atleast put there collars on if they dont then they cant get too pi$$ed if it gets caught and killed.

I think it is illegal in some states. I am pretty sure it is OK in NSW.

Cats would be great as food for snakes, but I don't want to offend the ignorent type of people who praise the killers of all animals because they are a majority. ("MY CAT DOESNT KILL ANIMALS" AKA supid cat owner)

If you do use them for a good feed for ya snakes/monitors, make sure they are healthy and of corse wormed, & keep it quiet, even to other Herpers. :)

My cat doesnt kill animals.......

My snake however has tried to eat it several times, so whos the bully, if anyone ever tries to feed my cat to my snake again i will be most unimpressed.....

Im not a stupid cat owner, my cat lives inside. (or my dogs try to eat her)

I like cats, and think cats are a brillant animal, evolved as very efficent hunters, skilled in the art of killing prey: it's for this reason i feel that they DON'T, belong in Australia. Our natives have suffered greatly from ferial species, foxs etc included. Mass decline in certian natives, even extinction can be attrubited for a large part, to cats, since their arrivial.
We own a cat, not by choise, it was a pet we were looking after that never went home....Normally i miss it when i'm not tripping over the mongrel on the way to the fridge  ...not to mention if i carried out any of the threats towards it, i most certianly would face extinction...my wife.....'self preservation' :)...However if i see one in the bush; given the chance...I'D KILL IT, putting my personal feeling's aside; as i'd do for any introduced species. The fact is their here to stay.....38 i counted on just one nightly outting....To those that keep cats; it's your choise....but i believe you do have a responsiblity eg controling  de-sexing etc....Don't be fooled that your cat would'nt kill natives, it's in their nature to 'hunt';.....if given the chance(allowed out). Theres no easy solution in eradicating the ferials...In regards to feeding to snakes etc, i'll stick with rats etc...SORRY TO RAVE ON!!! :)

Cats are wired to kill animals, it's the person who bought then here is the first place who is at fault.

I have two and they are locked up at night and all day they just sleep outside. Never once seen them kill anything. My snakes have even crawled over them while they are sleeping, they just sit there.

Does anyone have any solutions to keeping cats out of your yard, as I have two baby ducks and there is cat that keeps hanging around. I couldn't bring my self to kill it because I know how I would feel if someone killed one of my pets.

Get a trap and trap it and send it to the pound .
The ones i have caught and released havent come back in the yard ,maybe scared the crap out of them .Also my dogs would eat them if they got them .
