My father in law used to buy and sell tens of thousands of dollars, if not more in barter dollars every year.
You have to make sure there is several places for you to spend it as it's likely that at least one of them will stop taking barter dollars in the next 12 months and there's no point taking it if you can't spend it.
If you have a very high profit product, it's great. the F-I-L used to sell paintings that would cost him maybe $100 to paint for over $1000. He sold them for cash too, but people would spend barter dollars easier than real money.
