Hi, now before i get growled at, i done a quick search and couldnt find exactly what it was i was after.
Yesterday my wife and i bought a pair of central bearded dragons. They seem quite happy, and went absolutely stupid when we fed them last night!!
Now my question is, whats a decent temperature setting for them? The design of the second hand enclosure isnt the best, with both heatlamps being close to the centre at the back, so there very little temperature variation.
We are running 2 heat lamps, one with a ceramic lamp and the other a basking lamp providing a hot spot for them.
Because the cooler end isnt that much cooler than the hot end, what temperature should i set the enclosure at? At the moment i have the thermostat set at about 28, is this too low and should i turn it up a bit? The temp is at 27 at each end of the enclosure.
I dont want to cook them, but i dont want to make them too cold either. Im thinking about turning them up to around 30 because i read thay like it a bit hotter!!
Also, while i was searching, i found someone that was concerned because she hadnt seen her dragon drink. Should i expect to see them drinking?? In the 2+ years we have had our bredli i have never once seen him drink, so should i expect to see the beardies drink? I presume coming from such a hot dry part of the country that they would be well adapted to not drinking very often??
Thanks.
Oh, here is a video of them from when we got them home last night. We fed them about 3 or 4 hours after getting them home, and they were very impressed with there dinner!!LOL
