Do you thing there is something wrong with my beardie like an eyesight problem?, she never seems to be able to catch crickets and she keeps looking left and right and then runs in the wrong direction its only been the past 2 days she use to get them all the time like my others.
And its not missing it by a little, she not even running the wrong way.
Do you think I should be concerned? The only way im getting her to eat is by hand feeding and even then she will miss right in front of her face

The vid isn’t that good she had eating a few and loosing interest.

Probably wouldn't hurt to seek veterinary opinion but to me she just looks like a scatty baby and she isn't quick enough.

But that cricket looked too big for that little lizard. Bit hard to tell in the video. But try wounding the cricket so it can't move so fast and downsize them as well. Even if she is capable of chomping them up, I have read that larger crickets having harder shells which can cause digestive problems. Do you use medium crix?

BTW she is very cute :D

ok she acts like she whatching around her, i moved her into a new enclosure so maybe she still unsure of the new surroundings.
i breed my own crickets i try and pick out the smallest ones but sometime the mediums size get and they eat them no problems but ive heard that about no being able to digest them but she does poos fine (as you can see )

Hi
I have found that when we move beardies (young and old) it can take 1 - 2 weeks for them to realy settle in. You could slow the crickets down as posted above and a way you could do this is putting them in the freezer for about 1 - 2 minuits and that realy slows them down and when they warm up they go back to full speed. It looks like she may have eye sight prob but not sure.

ok im just being a over cautious mum and she hasn’t been her self. She my favorite (don’t tell the others) so ild hate anything to happen

The only way I can describe how she been acting is.... dumb lol

With the crickets Emzie - you said you breed your own and sometimes the medium ones get in the way. Try and pick crix that have freshly shed if you can. They will be softer for them.

haha, i'm telling the others!! :p

shes a gorgeous llittle thing!!

she does seem to be missing her food by a bit far, but if youre happy to hand feed her occasionally (if it is an eyesight problem) she'll still have a great quality of life!!

then again, she is seeing something,..maybe try taking the newspaper out so she can follow the crix properly instead of it disappearing all the time?

in regards to food size, if her temps and hydration are good that size cricket shouldnt be a problem. :)

try her on freshly shed mealworms, (the white ones) that way they wont be moving too fast for her.

I don’t mind hand feeding and she doesn’t care about taking them out of your hand. Maybe it’s a slight eyesight problem.
I was trying to do some test she wont follow my finger but if I got near her head she closes her eyes.
I just hope at worse it would be an eyesight problem don’t want it to be anything worse

the mealies (freshly shed ofcourse) should help test her eyesight,....just keep dropping them a bit further away from her and see if she can find them.

dragons have fantastic eyesight, mine often go bolting all the way from the back end of the back yard to the house area when they see one of those tiny crunchy centipedes,...i never know why theyre running till i see them chewing. :)

he jsut looks like confused young dragon, try putting her in a small container with no items in it and feeding her the crickets in thier, its also best to put to crickets in the fridge for about 3-4 mins first then dust with calcium (every second feed) see how he goes.

i reckon shes fine. those few crickets were too fast for her.... put the crix in the fridge for 10-15mins then feed them to her. That will slow them down for her. And make them easier for you to catch ;)

I'm sure you aren't stupid but with that newspaper make sure you don't get a cricket infestation underneath that will come out at night and nibble on your beardie!

i always clean the tank after feeding so that way i get all the crickets out
