Is it alright to feed my beardie a pinkie mouse every once and a while? He's about 3/4s grown so a pinkie mouse would be agood size I think. Can it hurt them? Is it more like a treat that you'd feed every once and a while or is it okay to feed them this every few days? Thanks.

i used to feed my big bluey pinkies occasionally, offer, if he takes it thats fine, not sure on how often to feed them mice tho

I have a spare pinkie mouse in the freezer I won't be using so I was thinking about giving it to my beardy. Might as well give it a shot. A once off couldn't hurt.

Well he gulped it down and seemed to enjoy it =D

I do it every month or two, not very often, and it hasn't had any obvious detrimental effects on them yet.
However, I admitted to this on here once before and got told off for it by someone who thought it was bad for them.

I figure in the wild they will eat anything that moves and they can catch so whats wrong with a bit of variety every now and then. It should give them a good, natural supply of calcium too shouldn't it, I'm sure they don't just eat calcium-powder-dusted insects in the wild!

Haha this is very true! Well Robbie seemed eager and chomped it down, probably happy to have something different from mealies, bearded dragon pellets, bokchoy and carrots! He used to eat crickets but now refuses and mum won't let me have woodies so it has to be mealies. Ah well.

yeah if he takes it then its fine but my dragon refused any mouse.. he only eats insects and vegies now but if your drgon is an adlt then it cant hurt him
cheers
