How long if at all after a beardie has pipped its shell should you offer assistance. I have read they can stay in their shell for upto a day after, but any longer?

As I have had one in its shell just over 24 hours now and have not seen it move in a long time.

have a look under the egg, if you can see that the yolk has hardened, id say its gone. I lost one from my last clutch this way.
The way i see it is that if it isn't strong enough to hatch out properly, and you assisted it, it would have been lame/sickly anyway.

Thanks Becs, i have cut the slit a little but still no movement in 12 hours so I guess its gone. I still have 3 left to pip their shell so I will wait til they all hatch unless it starts to smell i guess.
