i brought a bhp hatchie at the newcastle sofar expo in march, the guy i got it from said that its only ever eaten freshly killed mice, but should take thawed. Ive tried ever since to get her to eat,but with no luck. I am starting to worry a bit now as it has been over 3 months, has anyone got any tips on getting her to eat thawed mice ???

I only ever fed my snakes fresh killed and that's because they were convienient to obtain. I can understand why you'd like to switch because it's a bit of a pain planning to get them rather than grab them from the freezer. You might just find at this time of the year she's not all that interested in feeding?? Generally, if she looks like she's got a bit of weight on her and isn't fading away into a stick...you haven't got much to worry about ;) Just keep presenting each week, once a week and save yourself the stress. She'll be fine.

I gather you have tryed the fresh killed mice placed in the tub at night,if it still doesnt eat try pink rats in there at night.Once they start to feed there is mostly no problem i generally assist feed initially, allot of these juvenile bhps for sale in NSW cheap appear as if theyve been bought in from northern states judging by the size and price and its no surprise they are not well established feeders.

have u tryed a pinkie rat ? when i got my 2 womas i was told they were eating fresh killed mice . but i couldnt get them to eat defrosted mice , i ended up trying a defrosted pinkie rat . they both have been eating them ever since .

Day old Quail normally work for stubborn feeders. Nulkabar hatchery- near cessnock- has a good selection of quail ready to go
