Got another blue tongue out the front of my place the other day, the tail had been attacked by a neighbours cat and was bleeding and broken.

Anyway i took it in cleaned it up and disinfected the tail dressed it with a sterile dressing and put it in an enclosure till it healed. Today i noticed the tail from the bite area to the end tip was rotting.

I cleaned it up and the tail actually fell off, i disinfected the area and cut away all the infected tissue. And now it looks fine.

So my question is will it heal with no probs? And just have a stubby tail ? Like many other blue tongues that have been injured.

its best to take it to a vets and get some anti biotics. hopefully the vet wont charge as its not a pet. theres a chance of the wound turning septic. cats carry all sorts of bacteria in their teeth and claws. my dog attacked a blue tongue and took its tail off. it died a few days later from septicemia, even after a good clean out, sutures and anti biotics.
good luck

probably heal fine, but yeah some antibiotics would not hurt

lol yeah i dont know who owns this cat i have been trying to work it out for 4 months it comes and goes and no neighbours own it but it has a collar.

I think someone is lying to us lol

Have you got a large python? feed the cat to it! Its the only thing they are good for!:D

Ring the local council and organise a cat trap, once caught take it to the council pound. If microchipped owner will be notifyed ,if not one less native animal killing stray around.

Yep works a treat, specially if they are stray or the owners don't care you wont see it again.

If you can catch the cat without a trap, tie a note to its collar that if it wanders into your yard again it will not be leaving alive - they may do something about it.
