Hi All,

I got my yearling carpet on Saturday, but Im a little concerned with my cage temps.

I have a 650 x 400 x 400 wood cage with sliding front doors and a vent on each end( one high and one low) with a red 40w heat lamp.

It is 30c at the hot end and 28.9 at the cold. Is this a good enough gradient?
if not is there anything I can do to fix this.

thanks

Ben

you could install a small fan in the cool end or drill more holes on that side o let more heated air out

Is the cool end the same temp all the time? Do you know the room temp? If the room temp is lower, bigger air flow will help, but if the room temp is not much lower then maybe 600 isn't very far to get a gradient from a globe?

The room temp is not much lower.... is this a problem???

He is always in his hide at the hot end.
