Yeah, get rid of the mother. She might eat them or even worse she bite them for a slow, bleeding death.

Wait a couple of days after they are born and get them eating some dog food, chop it up into tiny pieces for them. Most should latch on to the food straight away. After the first couple of feeds, they'll be fine!

what sort of care is needed for young blueys?? I have been looking to getting one to add to the collection, is it much the same as beardies? don't supose any north queenslanders know where i could get one??

My easterns has some babies not long ago. Out of 11 i left two in with both parents for a day or two ( i couldn't find them to start with) and they were fine. I have a book on blue tongues that suggests there aren't many recorded cases or parents eating the young.

In saying all of that i did separate them as it's easier to feed them and to monitor how much they are eating.

Young are self sufficient from birth. Just give them the same thing to eat as the adults 5 days a week dusting with calcium every few feeds. Just have to watch the eating though as they can get quite aggressive towards each other.
