im hoping to buy a gtp earlyish next year, which in nsw i believe you need a class 2 license to keep. ive kept snakes for many years some of which need high humidity, temps etc and im more than confident that im capable of keeping a gtp. my problem is as stupid as it may sound, ive only just got my class 1 license a week ago. is there anyway i can fast track getting a class 2 or any other way around it so i am able to keep a gtp in the next year???
any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

dont think you can fast track it. you need to hold a class 1 for 2 years before applying for a class 2. if you have had a license before the one you have now they may add the times together that you have had all licenses. best to give them a call and ask

You can apply to have it upgraded earlier but it is very unlikely that they will do it. I spoke to them with a similar story, having been doing capture/release for a while and i'd had class 1 for 10months at that stage and was hoping to upgrade to class 2 non-venomous and i was told that it would be very unlikely that it would be approved.

They will ask for proof of your experience, they asked me for records of my capture and release (how many and how long have i been doing it), so unless you can provide it you're probably wasting your time.

BUt in saying that you can still apply......... at worst they can only say no........ who knows though?

yeah ive got no real proof. ah well looks like the gtp might have to wait another year. damn.
