Hi,
i have had an infertile clutch of Thicktail eggs and they are like jelly, is there a reason they may be like this and is there a way to prevent the eggs from being infertile in the future?
Thanks all.

As Thyla said, to get fertile eggs you need a daddy gecko lol
If you have a male in wiht her and have witnessed mating then it is possible that he or she isnt fertile.

I have male in there with her, she has had a clutch before with one fertile egg but I was unable to hatch it. The egg died because there was too much water in the incubator.

At night I have heard mating calls and I think she is gravid again, hope this batch is fertile. Is there something I can do to get fertile eggs like maybe get another female.

Make sure she has plenty of calcium as well.
Ive noticed eggs are soft straight after laying then harden slowly
Also how old are they?

I use to only give them calcium once every three weeks but as soon as I noticed she was gravid a started giving them calcium every feed. Now I always give them calcium whenever there is a feed. Thanks kitten, that was one of my concerns when the eggs were infertile.

My male would be about 3 years old and the female very close to 4 years old. I have has them both for over a year and the guy I bought them from said that they were proven breeders. I left the infertile eggs in the incubator for 48 hours just incase they happened to be fertile, they stayed like jelly so I had to chuck them.

Once every 3 weeks is no where near enough and every feed is too much (too much can result in chemical changes in their digestive system causing the calcium to be passed instead of absorbed).
Dusting 2-3 out of 5 meals is the recommended amount for breeding female geckos that lay soft-shelled eggs.

I didn't know that too much calcium is bad for them.
Thanks GeckoJosh

Calcium has no effect on fertility, but will aid in proper egg shell development and in the laying process.

I incubate all eggs it doesn't take long to find out which are bad or good.
