Hi guys,

My coastal has started the shedding process for the first time since I've had him. His eyes went milky 2 days ago.
I have two questions - first, how long should this take? and, should I attempt to feed him as he was due for a feed yesterday.

The whole shedding process can take 7-10 days. His eyes will go milky for a few days and then they will clear again. When they clear he will shed any old time from then.

I wouldn't offer food while he is in shed, specially while he eyes are clouded up as he is already stressed. He can't see well and most likely to refuse it anyway. Wait till he has shed and then start his feeding again.

Yeh i agree with mysnakesau snakes can go a long time without food and in the wild they cant expect to get food every say wednesday so they wont mind having it a few days late or different times of the day. Also when he finsihes shdding make sure theres no bits left on the tail (as the old skin will constrict the tail ) and that both eye caps have come off with the shed too

Best of luck
