Does this happen often? Our new Stimson's has been hiding for the past couple days, so I lifted his hide today to make sure he wasn't hurt or sick or something, and while he's not apparently ill (plenty of tongue flicking, etc.) and his eyes are clear, his skin looks much more "milky" than usual and a little... not wrinkly, but less supple, I guess. He also seemed more cranky at being disturbed - he's not previously seemed fussed one way or the other.

I'd get a photo, but as soon as I put the hide back he was straight in and obviously just wants to be left alone.

Humidity is fairly low - it's winter in Sydney - but I read that Stimson's don't need much anyway. Should I mist his enclosure while he's coming up to shedding or is the water dish sufficient?

Thanks in advance,
-Andrew

Hmm, okay... thanks for that. Problem is though, they haven't gone cloudy(blue) at all. Does that ever happen?

It could have happened in a short time so you could have missed it.

One of my jungles actually shed once and didn't show a single sign. I'm home a lot and have a lot of time on my hands so I get to keep a close eye on my snakes, but I didn't notice any sign of coming up to a shed.

Yes there eyes always goes milky bluish due to im pretty sure it's a substance throughout thier body to help them shed so yes it's normal

its ok a.beck my stimmie did the same thing her eyes went milky a fortnight prior to her shedding and before she shed her eyes were clear.

This thread should be interesting one of my Murray darlings does this she looks her worst just after a shed and only gets slightly cloudy eyes but always has a perfect shed and after a few weeks looks stunning, she is on my most recent thread.

The milky skin on your Stipmson does sound like it is going through the sloughing cycle.

He could have easily gone through the 'blue' phase in those couple of days that he stayed in his hide.
Make sure he has a few rough things in his enclosure to help with shedding. A light mist is always a good idea.
