Does anyone know what a "Generic Host" is please? When I started up my computer it said that Windows Explorer(I think) had encountered a problem with this and that it had to close, and I should send an Error Report. Only problem is I have know idea what a "Generic Host" is. :? :?

In short, its a bug Chez! update and run your spyware detector program like spybot etc, its likely to be a gator file or something like it.
An anti virus check couldnt hurt either, sometimes there trojans.

p.s if it turns out to be a trojan etc, turn off your system restore, restart your puter and run antivirus again, before turning system restor back on, otherwise, system restor will save its code and it will rewrite itself to your registry again and again.

1. start
2.settings
3. control panel
4.performance and maintenance (xp)
5. (top left) system restore
6. (left) system restore settings
7. (check box) turn off system restore /ok

recheck box to turn on again After running antivirus. :D I feel so geekish! Have to put more tape on the bridge of my glasses!

If you turn up anything and cant remove it, try rebooting in safe mode and running your spyware/virus scans again. This should then give you access to delete any bugs hidden in the restore folder.
What OS you using RR?
