Cunningham scales odd

Hello, just caught my Cunningham from the pit, and realised some of its scales were odd. I carefully rubbed them with a wet rag to remove the lose scales. What could this be? It isnt shedding yet I dont think.
I put some antibacterial neosporin on it for now.

How advanced does it look? Isnt scale rot usually on the bottom side and not on the top scales?
Just went back over my pics, and found the one from the day i bought it about a month ago.
Looks like you can see it in that area as well. I keep it outdoors and it sleeps under rocks, in car tires and in buried pipes.
It hasnt been really wet in there this year.
