Hi, only new to forum and are pleased to be getting my first python very shortly, a Diamond. I have done a bit of research into Diamonds and have been told by a few people that Males tend to have a more placid nature than Females and are wondering if this is the case? Also I have asked for a hatchling, is this the best way to go for a first python? The reason for a hatchling is it would just be nice to have him/her from the start!! Any feedback would be appreciated.
Cheers

i duno about the male and female part but you no doubt you could get flightly male or female.. my mate got his diamond hatchie female and it was as calm as calm :) and yeah getting a snake from a hatchy is fun because it can get used to you handling it and you get to watch the cutie grow!

male female, female male... it all depends on the snakes temperment itself, not the sex. hatchies are a good way to start as you get to enjoy it for all it's life. keep in mind being a hatchy theycan be a bit flighty and timid for a while but are so enjoyable and fun on the same note. i recommend a hatchy if you want to enjoy it from the start. good luck and have fun with your new snake when you get him/her :D

Cheers guys, it turns out im getting a female anyway so I guess we will just have to see how she is, but hey I agree, who says a male has to be more timmid than a female? every animal (person for that matter) has its own temperment and im sure snakes didnt read the rule book on which sex has to be more timmid!!!;)
