Enclosure Locks

hey guys, i'm building a new snake enclosure its almost done. i just need the glass and locks. and i was wondering with the locks, if i buy 2 of the same brand, will one key work for both of the locks ? or will i have to use 2 different keys ? thanks

I found the URS ones did. I bought a few of theirs and got all the keys all mixed up but it didn't matter. Not sure of any other brand, though.

Ask for the locks to be keyed alike

The locks are cheaply made and produced OS, they are usually supplied in batches "keyed alike" but if a shop gets a new batch in they most probably won't be keyed alike the the previous batch and some shops may mix batches so just make sure you check them when you buy them, or if you buy from the net request the to be KA or Keyed Alike. They can not be pulled apart and rekeyed to suit a different key or ordered from a key no ( unless you ring around checking every supplier to find one with your previous key number) so order in as much as you think you will need on the one key to start with. You can also order them KD, keyed to differ

Your local lock smith should be able to match up the barrels if they don't match,

thanks guys i'll get them keyed alike. because knowing me even though i need the one key, i'll lose all the ones i have
