:oops: Facing flying, (small commercial/ regional ) soon, I have changed jobs and have been asked to do regional work for the outfit im with. (supermarket refits) This will mean flying to say grafton from sydney. I have never flown at all except by helicopter so im wrorried. lol
How many thousand feet? between me and the ground, and only a few inches of metal beneath me. :shock: I just cant help see this image of a light aircraft plummeting out of the sky, like a huge dead duck, an exploding in flames in some farmer's paddock. (Gulp!) Two weeks of metro left then its (airport)"Terminal" time. :twisted:

The take off scares me but I generally find the rest of the trip boring. There is always the chance, but it is very very minor.

try a rubber band plane (2 seater) from gove to groote eylendt with a cyclone approaching and an aboriginal pilot named sammy who cant speak english well at all..... actually just enough to tell me he had a hard night in the pub the night before but is ok now :)

Ahhh the good old days wouldnt trade em in for quids, your flight should be a breeze ...lol
 
oohhh lol i got excited did i? you chicken! flying is awesome! the take off is soooo cool when ur TEARING down the runway at like...ummm a REALLY fast speed and ur slammed into the back of your seat then u see they ground slip away...WOOHOO! landing is orright but not as wicked cos u know the fun is over lol. the best part of a trip is the flights i reckon!
 
Now Thats makin it sound better Zoe, "REALLY fast speed" , I just hope it dosent go downward at really bloody fast speed! lol Wonder if I can Smuggle some valium aboard? Hope I dont get a flight with rexy and his airline forks! :lol: :lol:

I can understand, I am almost 25 and have never flown. I want to, but I wasn't exactly born into a rich family. I've heard the worse bit is taking off, and then it really doesn't feel like anything. :)

The first time will be the worst, and after that you'll be fine. If I could get over my fear of cockroaches, there is hope for anyone with their fears. :)

Hey nome, Im not billy gates jnr either, lol company will be paying plus accomodation and expenses, so atleast its that much less painful. :lol:

Think airport, not 'terminal'. :lol:

Also, I would much rather for safety fly in a plane than a helicopter, so I think you are braver about it than you think. :wink:

Oh mate, dont be fooled, That chopper scared thr cr*p outta me, mostly on account it was a cheap hire joyflight, and they decided to add value for money, by removing the doors! :shock:
I kid you not, so passengers with video cams could get an unobstructed veiw! I was sharing the seat with two other people and I was half out the door, (thanks to the ample proportions of the woman next to me :) ) and Im hanging on, white knuckles, my face being blown off, my ears blown out, trying to enjoy the horizon over the pilots shoulder without looking down! It was not without anxiety. :oops:

Well, you have to admit, flying in a plane will never be that bad.
