I just had my yearling jungle python out in the sun and noticed that there was a small patch (3 or 4) scales which were flakey. After noticing this i checked the rest of him and noticed the odd one here and there.

Is this normal? There are no narmal signs of shedding such as darkened skin colour and hazed eyes.

He has never had mites so i'm hoping to rule that out. Also I am pretty cautious with him for example he has never been outside on the grass cause i'm too worried about losing him.

I will try and get a picture up soon.
Thanks

Depends what you mean by flaky? When I first got my jungle I noticed when she pulled back you'd feel the scales pulling, something I didn't notice with my first snake (Stimson python).
The vet said it was fine though, and to expect it when they're coming up to a shed..
