I need to take a trip out to Winton and look for my own fossils. I have a few crinoid stalks, a few shells, and an opalised shell, but that's about it for my fossils. Oh, wait, and fossilize dino poo!

What is the blue colour on the fish fossil

I think that is just my iphone being a bit poor at picking up the light, its not blue on the fossil.

cows do utilise the area, as do palaeos, in fact a few chinese professors will be there in about a week looking for insect fossils.

Thats really interesting! I would love to see what they find out there! There is a lot of study to do within sedimentary geology. I am sure this site, while being one of the richest, is not the only amazing understudied site around!
