Labs seem to have an extended teenagehood, most people aren't prepared for that. They stay in that naughty puppy stage for a longer period of time. If people bothered doing more research on the breed or any breed for that matter, it would help. Dogs getting dumped like this is another reason I am against ANY animals in pet stores, people see a cute pup and make an impulse buy and once the cute stage is over they don't want the dog anymore. Sadly so many dogs get dumped as well when people have babies...people really need to think of these scenarios before getting animals in the first place. With the horrible number of dumped dogs being put down all the time, you would think the government would look at some kind of licensing system and cooling off period before people just jumped in and bought a dog.

Baz, it's great that you are doing this for sally, it's really good when so many people see the pound as the only option and don't bother trying to find the dog a home first. Lucky she's got you, even though her owner obviously couldn't give a rats :evil:

If you get stuck I'm sure there is rescue places for labs in VIC as there is with most purebreeds. PM me if you need any information and I'll be able to find some out.

On another note, snakeyes, were you able to find a home for your lab? I remember you advertising her on here not long ago.

Not sure if she is too old for them but have you tried "Quarantine, Customs, Guide Dogs etc etc"

With her apparent nature I reckon she could be a shoe where I work at the airport and I'd love to see her one day sitting down next to someones feet wagging her tail (oh.oh) I smell something that you hould'nt have in your bag Mr.
