I have just sold some baby beardies to a pet shop and they refused to take a couple because they have slight black tips on the end of their tails. They have told me it is gang green and will kill them! Is this true? What should i do?

Any advice please

Black tips could be a dead bit on the tail , but I highly doubt it will kill them.Maybe the tails have been slightly damaged but left over shed or another dragon has had a chew.

Pics would help , so someone can tell you "VET" or not to worry :).

Looks like the tip of the tail has been bitten off.
Looks healed in the pics.

Yeah they got nipped back when they were just weeks old. Did the beterdine thing and thought all was well till this shop had a problem with them.

Have you had this before? Do you think i need to worry?

nup i dont think there is an issue , i would say the pet shop duznt really want them because there tails are nipped . and the genral customers wont want a beardie with a nipped tail .

They look fine in the pic... I have some with missing legs and most of the tail.. Someone will want them.. just find another shop.

Thanks heaps i have already sold some with nipped tails but to general public not shops.
I just hate to think that i'm selling them to people then they will die.

I will ask at another shop maybe this lady is just too fussy!

Thanks for the reassurance.

my beardie sparks has the same,
it's not gang green it's just their clutch mates accidently biting the tips of their tail trying to catch crickets, not a biggy:D

why not chuck an add up here on APS? im sure someone would take them off your hands and probably for a better price then what a pet shop would give you

I first thought some greenies ganged up on you lizards .....

It's GANGRENE not gang green. Decomposition of body tissue resulting from bicterial disease or circulation obstruction.

I wouldn't worry about her.. sounds like she thinks she knows more than she really dose.
$25 is a good price for a petshop

Hehehe! It's bacterial Michael, not bicterial! You're a Queenslander, not a Kiwi! :lol

Not having a dig or anything, but why are people so annoyed when someone corrects a serious spelling error? I mean, wouldn't you appreciate the fact that someone has taken the time out to help you? It sure saves further embarrassment in future.

If I was attempting to use a word so obviously incorrectly, I'd sure want someone to let me know!
