gecko changing colour..?

hey all
i have a one year old smooth-knob-tailed gecko; he's usually a dark brown & orange colour but i've noticed that in the past week his colour is dull, more greyish purple.. anyone have any inclinations of what may be happening? if it's a bad thing? :?
