I just upgraded my old etrex to a nice new Gpsmap 60c today .
and i was wondering if anyone else uses them for there fav herping spots ? :D

what does the gpsmap 60c have that the etrex does not?

Well Sluggy the old etrex didnt have any base maps it just worked like a compass with waypoints on the screen showing where you were .Plus this ones got a colour screen !

I'm familiar with the etrex. Does this one have maps programmed into it? Is that the only difference?

It has the aus base map which has all highways and general areas on it you can also add to it as it has 54mb of built in memory so you can put other more detailed maps on it .

If i get the street level maps for it it will work like a navigation aid telling you when to turn at streets and all that .
You can also use the Blue nav aid for all the ocean bouys fishing spots deep water and shallow
water as well as warnings I dont have this software so I am not 100 % on all this other stuff
