I have a problem,

So far I have been able to successfully breed my golden tail geckos, except for when I had a couple of issues with incubating ( due to the heat up here ).
So far I have successfully bred 2 of the little critters - only to loose them. I lost one when he was about 2 months old and I just had one die on me last night ( he was about 3 months old )
Both had been eating well and very active.....
Basically they were housed the same as the parents - but just in smaller containers....
I misted twice a day and was feeding them on pin heads...
I did not provide any heat - as it gets quite warm up here....maybe that was the problem...

Just need some ideas for the future, for when they breed again...as they are georgeous little creatures.

thanks
Paula

Try contacting Rob Porter at Livefoods Unlimited,he is the GECKO GURU and was breeding Golden Taileds
long before most other people. I bought mine from Rob and they absolutely thrived.
Good Luck
Cheers
Sandee :)

I found when keeping these guys any sign of trouble and i isolated and turned the heat up, worked every time. Assume you keep them under UV, some people dont agree with it but i think it aslo helps.

As above my golden tails also originated from Rob and he knows everything !!

The only problem was that there was not sign of trouble....not that I saw anyway.....
Will tray uv next time around.....
I have uv on the adults at the moment - but have not had it on the youngies.....

I havnt bred taenicauda but my ciliaris are similar in requirements, I have found that if hatchies are not provided with UV light I sometimes run into problems at around the 10-12 week mark.
