Hi all, i got hubby to build me an outdoor enclosure! im pretty sure Gorgoo loves it as he eats poops and sheds like a dream :)

Its in a shady spot for summer although he does get some sun and we made it so that we can move it in winter if need be. I am thinking i will leave it where it is though and have a heat mat powered from our shed on a shelf - not sure yet.

I started by putting him out a few hrs a day and eased him in2 it but no regrets lol he has been out there for a couple of mths now and so far so good. I have been worried today with the heat here in Brisbane however he seems fine and isnt stupid lol he has moved from his fave spot and ive been misting the entire enclosure and him with the hose and added extra water bowls.

Looks good *Thumbs Up*.

Thanks :) i had to add a big ice brick (wrapped in foil) to the bottom of enclosure earlier as its so hot here today i thought i had better. He is snuggled under a log right beside it at the moment.

Awesome job!

What a lucky fella!

It makes me wish I didn't live in cold/ unpredictable Victoria!

Do you have to be careful of contact with the outside world??

Looks great! Who is Gorgoo anyways?

he is my 1 yr old coastal carpet python, and as far as the outside world the birds birdbath is right outside it and they have a squark at him sometimes but we have it locked and used actual snake mesh so he is pretty safe. The odd ant, spider etc pop in from time to time but they r harmless :)

I am thinking a bit down the track of building an outdoor enclosure similar to this but bigger for a lacie, just out of curiosity what are the dimensions of this and total coast to build?

It was around the 500 mark and took hubby 2 days as he welded it all up from scratch. 1800 high and 1.4 wide and about a meter deep :)
