if you want a better pic you climb in there with him

Thanks Matt...if I'm ever down in the area of URS, I'll try and con Tim into letting me do just that...No brains, no pain ;-)

Simon Archibald

its not the pain that bothers me mate.... its the 8+ hours of micro surgery to reattach the bits they could find that worrys me a little :)

now he was a big boy and im sure he would have eaten our calf muscles if he had a chance lol but after we disturb him he went to his hotbox and wasnt seen again but my god was it awe inspiring seeing a perentie in a private collection and in real life without glass infront of you, i still had matt and tim infront if me though im not stupid.

He ran away? Big meany ;-)

Haha yeah I know what you mean about the surgery Matt. Some people have posted on here before about tendons and nerves being torn off and whatnot. Thankfully I don't know anyone who's had this happen, nor do I intend to let it happen to me :)

Simon Archibald

i lost two fingers in an "accident" not pleasent thats for sure :) and best avoided at all costs

Ouch

There's a few suburbs up our way where if you lost 2 fingers, you'd be back to a normal amount ;-)

Simon Archibald

And you probably have more than 2 teeth. Also, I'm betting you don't live in your rocking chair on the porch? HAHAHA

Simon Archibald

:) only on warm days...lol....

Anyway i am off to bed catch you all soon
Matt

G day Matt & Ricko,

I am glad that you two and Haley and Mel had a good time while you were here in sunny Adeliade. (hows the sun burn)

Donna and I did enjoy our days with you all and it was good to have sometime off and just sit around and enjoy the day Saturday and eat some seafood and have a drink.

Regards Tim

I dont care what anyone says about the GTP, they were the best snake i have ever held, they were to most placid, and such an eyesore! I would sell all the collection just to have just ONE of them.

Now I don't know who's green with envy with you guys, but I was at the zoo on Sunday drooling at the GTP's through a plate glass window :( ........but now I see you ppl were holding them!!! Makes me sick

Awesome stuff! :D

WOW if those photos dont do em justice i think i'd go blind lookin at em lol. they look so bright! sorry phillis, but every time i think i'm over the GTP thing i see an awesome pic or at the zoo (the closest i've ever been lol) and i fall in luv again. you guys are so lucky!

geeeeez matt were u serious about the finger thing? OUCH

I still find it sad that more people can't enjoy them, everywhere else in the world they are easy to get and affordable but here the price has been kept so high they are virtually unobtainable for most people, such a shame as they aren't a difficult snake to breed and rear contrary to popular opinion.

Yeah the seafood was awesome thanks Tim but i did splatter it all over my shirt. Well we cant wait for the next time if we are still welcome :) Zoe they are just like a magnet when i saw the first glimpse of green i ran towards it.

Yes Ricko you four would be more than welcome to drop in agian.
PS did the pictures of brain the BHP turn out ok?

Regards Tim

GTP's aren't out of reach for the average hobby keeper.
Buy a trio of bredli (for example), breed them, get 30 odd babies, sell them for $350 each and buy a pair of gtps. That way you will also have some experience with hatchies before you buy them.
I love gtps, always have and will. Same with womas, they are the two dream snakes for me.
But... my ULTIMATE reptile is the boyd's forest dragon.
Everything is personal choice....I don;t understand paying $550 for a jungle (that may or may not turn out nice) when you can buy a very very nice bredli for $350.
For those who love white lips (like me :) ) you need to see a nice example of a very healthy water python... they also won't eat your face like a wlp will.
