I have a habistat switching thermostat (less than 6 months old) and the green light (indicating when it is allowing power/heating) is not coming on at all. I change the temperature setting and it clicks (as if it is cutting the power or turning it on) but the green light never comeson. This has only just happen so obviously I'll be watching closely to see if it is constantly heating or not, but has anyone else had problems with them? Is it had it? Is it repairable?

I hate thermostats....

If its just the LED that's gone it's a simple fix. Have you connected it to a light globe? That would be the fastest way to check that it's actually turning the load on when it clicks.

I think it's just the LED that's gone after sitting there staring at the temps for the last hour. Don't you love it when you get so caught up on one task (watching the temps) that your brain just shuts down so there is no room for commonsense or logic to come up with better ideas (like plugging in a light bulb).

I will go plug one in now. Thanks.

Haha no worries man I know exactly what you mean. Too bad you're so far away or I'd offer to fix it for you. Like I said though LED is easy. Doesn't take a rocket surgeon to replace

Actually not so far away now. I moved last week to Helensburgh. It is absolutely freezing here and has completely messed up the temps in my olives click clack so I had to redo the setup - hence my immediate concern about the thermostat playing up.

I plugged an appliance in to test it - it's working fine. Temps are pretty good now too. The LED is funny though - it's not working but if I turn the temp. setting on the thermostat past the point where it switches on and off, the green LED will flash but won't stay on....so it still works...just not properly. I'll pull it apart one day when I can be bothered. Thanks again.
