Im just wondering how long after pythons hatch, should the be tucking into their 1st pinkies?

Its my 1st year with babies and Ive had my little fellas for just over 2 weeks now, and the last one just had his 1st shed.
but they haven't eaten anything yet. They are all still really healthy and active and awesome!

But how long without food is too long?

Thanks.
~ Amanda

I would start feeding now. 2 weeks, after the shed their skin. My Spotteds went without food for 11 months.

Sweet. thanks.
thats about what i was thinking. im sure they'll eat soon.
im just being an over-protective 1st timer =P
and wondering when i should be getting worried.
my big fellas have gone for AGES without food, but i figured it would be different for littler bodies.
thanks for the reply.

haha, sure. come on around guys.
Grab the address off Sam if ya like or i'll PM it to ya.
He's around here every week checking them out lol.
theres some pics in my gallery of before they shed, and im gonna stick up a few more of after.

I have 3 womas that ate the same day they had their first shed -- but I've got childrens that just took their first un- assisted feed after 13 months, it's very frustrating

wow. 13 months is so long! good job keeping up with it!
im willing to put in the hard yard, if it comes to it, but hopefully the little guys will just decide they are hungry soon hehe.
im gonna brain a few pinkies and leave then near their hides tonight and see how we go.

try holding the pinkie with tweezers and wave it in front of the pythons nose -- if it gets cranky enough it might bite it--- good luck--- I usually try feeding my juvies once a week, if they dont eat after 6 to 8 weeks, they get some goodness into their gut, even if I have to force it down -- but that does stress them out, but after 13 months
, they got sick of it befopre I did

Well I've been into snakes for over 50 years, made a lot of mistakes so I've found with a bit of patience maybe I might get it right--- I hope-- good luck with the feeding
