I have noticed lately my stimson sticks his head into his water bowl, seems to swish it around then removes it and moves around his enclosure and seems to scratch the side of his head on the rocks and branches in his enclosure, he is not due to shed for some time yet or has not showed any signs of a shed, can anyone tell me why he may be doing this, or is this a normel practice that i have not picked up on until now. Cheers

I have no experience with Stimsons Pythons but it sounds like your snake might have mites (please correct me if i am wrong).

thanks, I will do more research, if this is the case how do I treat them and if he hasnt got mites is the treatment harmfull?

my snake also does this when he has guts or just smell of mouse on his face, he hates it and tries to wash/rub it off
