well iv had my little snakey for awhile now.

feeding great hastn refused, never biten but struck once when i had it on my bed to clean the click clack, and has just shed and looks amazing.

i noticed though that when i got back from camp, the heat matt was acting wierd. one part seems to be getting warmer then normal (~35) and the other side produces no heat at all. normally the temp was a constant 33 and i had no problems.

the warm spot is only like a 2cm square, the rest of the heat matt gives of nothing, or very little. i had a look just then and where its hot it has a tinge of brown.

he is due for a feed but id rather not feed him incase he gets to cold and cant digest, due to crap heat matt.

the matt is a black stick on exo terra 4watt matt.

any help on whats wrong would be great... should i replace it?

Im not sure about the heat mat itself, but its good to have a temperature gradient, So hot end 32-34, and the cool end 25 to 27

yes mate.

i had it 1/3 under the click clack, and everything was fine. hot end ~ 33 and cool end what ever really, but getting as low as 20.

but now in comparison there would probably be 1/20 of the click clack getting heat

Hhmm, maybe the heat mat is on its way out, can you re position the mat to cover more area?

Sounds like the heat mat has burned out. How old is it? If less than 12 months (& you kept the receipt, right?) the shop you bought it from should replace it. Do you run it off a thermostat? I had one burn out using no thermo, replaced it, added a thermo, no probs since

nah repositioning it wont work as the part that wasnt under doesnt give off heat either.

hopefully i still have the reciept somewhere and il take it back tomorrow, if not il be buying a new one, and most likley not an exo terra one lol.

thanks for the help guys
