Hi Folks, I was wondering what the best way was for heating the Exoterra class terrariums for skinks, would a heat lamp fit inside the larger models or perhaps sitting on top, any help would be tops, this is my first time with these class cages :) .

I used to have my beardie in one of those. I would hang the heat emmiter over the top of the cage to one side, but never rest it on the lid or else the plastic will melt and start to smoke. Would probably catch on fire too. So youhave to attach it to something so it'll dangle over the top. Other than that perhaps a heat mat that sticks to the wall, if not on the bottom.

I use one of the exo terra glow light covers they sit on top of the mesh and if you get the smaller one it fits on the mesh between the plastic so no worries about the plastic melting, You can fit upto 150watt heat globe in there to so no worries with heating. I myself use a 100 watt but like I said it will fit upto 150. Also you can use the exo terra heatmats and heat the cage from underneath. The cages are made raised so that the matt will go underneath it and not have to worry bout it burning anything. Hope this helps

Cheers
