ok so my angry angry childrens chompy just bit the hook when i was removing him to clean his tank now one side of his jaw doesnt seem closed will this be ok untill i see my regular vet or will he need an emergancy vet visit

It depends on what you are saying, sometimes their jaw dislocates but snakes can pop it back in easily, if it doesnt pop back in, the next 24 hours then take him to the vet but keep an eye on him, if you can see he is having trouble then dont wait the 24 hours, get him to the vet soon.
Maybe a pic might help to see how bad it is?
Cheers

thanks for the quick reply. i just went to check on him to take a pic and his mouth is closed properly now.. dont i feel silly... but i'll keep an eye on it and take him to the vet tmoz just to make sure. sorry im such a n00b but hes to cute (even though he wants to kill me) not to be careful with

Thats great, glad he is back to normal, my spotty has decided to try and kill me, even though when I first got her, she was placid as, since the cold weather, she has been moody so hopefully gets back to normal, lol.

Anyway, glad your snakey is all good :)

I'm all for the "if in doubt, go to the vet", but in this case I would save your money and not worry about it.

I have a couple of pythons that bite the hook almost every time (one woma in particular, that even bites her own body every time I touch her with the hook), nothing bad has ever come from them biting the hook. They brake a tooth every now and then, but they grow back.

yeah i had him out today and he seems fine i think i will see how he goes with his next feed before i take him to the vet
