Hi

Found this fellow behind my shed in Eungella Nth Qld - wet rain forest/pasture. about 1-1.5 m not real aggressive, but struck at a pole when I tried move him on. Dark brown upper, pale belly, creamy eye, 'blocky' head. lighter 'diamonds' in sides of body.. Doesnt want to move at all.

A Brown Tree Snake...just leave him be...the creamy eye and the very dull look of its skin says its going to shed its skin in a few days.
 
exactly, he probably can't see real well at the moment which is why he is not wanting to move much.
 
As every one said, plus I thought I should ad they aren't dangerous, if one was to bite you, it would hurt a bit, but every one has different reactions to their mild venom. Nothing to worry about though, wont kill you.
