HELP- Python frozen/can't move

Why is he good outside and not in his tank? Could it be residue from the mite spray or some other form of chemical/poison in his enclosure that is affecting him?

Ok Beeman- good point. It is hard when they all want me to bring him in to be looked at though... I am, and will continue to do my best. As I said, last thing I want to do is pass this on. And I don't want to sound like I'm not taking this seriously for a moment, but when a vet, who knows what we are dealing with (18 years experience) tells me simply "bring him in" it makes me think it can't be that extreme. I will remain vigilent though

And good thought Mummabear but he is now being quarantined in a tank that never had mites and therefore never treated with the mite spray...

Good luck with him Lauren. It all sounds very strange. I can't offer any help.
I was chatting to a guy at work today about snakes. I'm temping at the RAAF base.
He was telling me about his sick snake.

I can read. Now that she has answered the first bit by posting that she is in Townsville I can suggest an opinion from a reptile specialist is still needed.

Whoever you have seen in Townsville, despite maybe being very experienced, is not a reptile specialist. There are currently no vets in Townsville who are qualified specialists. However there are many specialists who are willing to discuss cases like this with a local vet without having to resort to contacting overseas 'experts'.
