Ninja prefers the red reptile sand, just make sure it's deep enough and damp enough and she'll tunnel in and lay happily! I piled it up down one end of her tank until it is about 25cm deep - when she is starting to test dig I dampen that end of the tank down by tipping about 1/2ltr of warm water over it (you can see it seeping in through the sides of the tank. Then she tunnels in and gets right down to the bottom to lay.....

Lollypop:
how do you know when your lizards are going to lay if they are outside? i am thinking of breeding this season and she is outside, i am hopeing she will lay in her lay area, rather then just on the rocks, but what if i am at work? i mean if she is looking like she is going to lay i would stay home but how do i know? are they pretty accurate from the time of mating?

thanks!!
