cheers mate, will go see Peter Wilson as he's the closest to me.

All the others are up around Nth Qld.

I've just moved his hide over the heat Matt. Will see how that goes.

Thanks heaps Guys.

No worries mate, i would avoid feeding the snake again until you're absolutely certain you have got the temps right. Glass cages are quite hopeless at keeping heat in, a wooden cage is definitely something worth looking at. I'd also advise you to offer a very small feed next time around and see how he goes with that before moving back up to his regular sizes.

Yeah, will start hunting for a wooden cage this week and get a proper thermostat as well.

heres the anwser to your question.

ok, making a wooden enclosure is VERY easy. buy some melamine sheets, ask bunnings to cut them for you. for the front buy some plastic glass tracks from bunnings, stick 'em in, cut some glass or buy from a glazier and you're done. I would also suggest putting in a ceramic heat emitter globe.

danger mouse just insulate your glass tank at the hot end glue polystirine(spelling you know that stuff cups made out of)make the insulation at the sides and place the hide in the corner this does a good job and you wont have to replace the whole enclosure.I like glass its easy to clean but heats a problem ...

bit of an update. I moved his hide over the heat mat and put a another little hide incase it got a bit warm for him. Had him out just before for 10mins and felt a lot warmer to the touch which im happy with. He seemed a lot calmer and a bit more active. Will leave it a few more days then try a feed again.

Deception Bay is close to Brisbane....it's up near Redcliffe and I've heard Clayton Knight is really good.

Absolutely Danger_Mouse - she's very capable, especially in snake - her favourite!

how much is a standard consultation with her mate?

i live just down the road and was goping to go to clayton, didnt know about her!

Saw Gillian today and everything is fine. He's a little bit small for his age but nothing to be worried about.

That's great Danger_Mouse. Gillian is wonderful, I trust her not only with my reptile & wildlife rehabs but my personal reptile collection as well for several years - she's always caring and professional and doesn't charge anywhere near what she's worth!
