The one I have for sale has a lovely green pattern and I just keep him outside near the tap so he is never thirsty. He is easy to handle. I would even let my kids pick him up if they felt so inclined.

but it gets cold in wagga wagga! does you snake like it?

RE: Re: RE: Hoop Snake prices???

a bowl of milk whats that for

Jimmy, hoop snakes are the only known species of snake that prefer milk to water. There have been reports of hoop snakes in the wild suckling at the teat of cows. They're really quite an amazing snake.

I saw a hoop snake on a documentary recently. I couldn't believe the speed they can travel. Looked awesome. :)

RE: Re: RE: Hoop Snake prices???

I've never seen a hoop snake hoop on a rainy day but I have kept loop snakes that will loop on rainy days. Loops are alot more common then hoops and fairly cheap so you might want to get one of these first as a loop in smaller than a hoop so you won't need as big an enclosure. Send me an email I have some loop eggs in the incubator as I type this, will probably have some hypo loops hatching this season too.

Milk snakes are a group of North American colubrids, very attractively banded with red, yellow and black. you can do a search for them in Google under 'Milk Snake' or 'Lampropeltis' and get thousands of pages with photos of all the different varieties.

I found a great way to catch these snakes when I was a kid.

You just find a likely hollow log. Then you place a garden pea a few feet from the opening, and next to this you place a large birthday cake (minus candles) with a hole in the center of the cake... Are you following so far ???

Then ........................

When the snake comes out for a pea - You kick him in the cakehole !!

LOL, No, in fact ROFLMBAO Westaussie :)
Seriously though I kept a sub species of the Hoop snake, known as the Hula. Handling the Hula Hoop snake is best done in a mini skirt :)
