How hot for the spot ?

the other end of the enclosure which is about 1 foot away is ambient about 23 while the other end is about 33

OK now I'm funcused! one end is 23, one end is 33 and one end is 40? how many ends does your enclosure have? Or do you have the heat lamp in the middle?

Rofl, now I'm all excited about building some kind of polyhedral enclosure... May be slightly less functional, whatwith all the different ends, but a great conversation piece I'll bet :lol:
