There's a little bit more to it than that. If you are running your heating through a thermostat, then it shouldn't matter (within reason) what wattage your bulb is.

how big is youe snake?, how big is youe enclosure? how far away is your hot spot from your probe, where does your snake sit? goy any pics of your set up? so many questions, so many answers....

havnt set it up thats y i am asking these questions and do u know a good breeder for childrens pythons

Great to see another potential snake keeper :)
Can i just say that from your post I think you need to do a lot more reading and research. That's what's great about this forum.. lot's of people to help and lots of information.
First I'd say work out your enclosure.. then work out how you are going to heat it. if you do a search for enlosures on here you'll get a lot of info about setting one up... Also get yourself a copy of "Care of Australian Reptiles" by john weigel

they have it at The Herp Shop - Australia
It's best to get as much information as possible before you get your first snake... IE: food, substrate, heating, hides, water, air flow, etc etc...

Umm if it's a hatchy the click clack what mysnakeau showed that will last a childrens hatchy for bout a year if not longer. If your getting a hatchy get it from snake ranch they have 1 female left i think for $180. Whats the dimensons of the cage? Do you have a thermostate yet?

I have a 75w ExoTerra Heat Glo heat lamp in a large Exo Terra Glow Light mount. This unit sits on the mesh top of my Stimmie's (an Anteresia similar to a Children;s python) enclosure. I leave it on 24x7 and the probe-measured temperature on the basking shelf 20cm below the top of the enclosure varies between 30 and 35 degrees at this time of year. I started with a 50w heat lamp but, because I was only getting maximums of 32 degrees on the basking shelf, I upgraded to 75w. I expect to use the 50w lamp again in summer when the ambient temperature is higher.

Hope this helps.

If you are looking at getting a hatchling then a heatmat is probably better than a globe for heat.

I started out thinking that way but, with more research, arrived at the view that, for my sized enclosure (74cm H x 46cm W x 46cm D), I need both. I therefore have a 7w heat mat under the enclosure, covering about one third of the base. A hide is set up so that half of it is over the heat mat. This approach gives me two distinct temperature gradients in the enclosure, 21 to 35 degrees in the whole enclosure and 24 to 37 degrees under the hide at the heat mat thermostat's current setting.

My Stimmie is 6 months old and nearly 29cm long. He uses both the heat mat (inside and outside of the hide) as well as his basking shelf under the heat lamp at different times during the day/night.

For heating a click-clack however, I would completely agree with wokka.
