I think this picture best descibes my passion for fishing  Well, perhaps not so intimately  ...and 'NO' it's not me! (I'd be behind the fish )

I'm off to do some Salmon fishing at Mallacoota over Xmas which I'm looking forward to immensely :D - Geez I need a break! Perhaps maybe I'll try for some Flatties or see what Gummies I can haul up onto the beach during the night :D

I need to get away at some stage and go flyfishing again though :( It's been absolutely ages! Anyone here in Melbourne/ Vic do much of it?...if so, where do you go?

ps: I should have put an option on for both Saltwater and Freshwater. Just tick what you do most of :D

can you put another option?
i love fishing but have no time money or equipment........can you say line hook and a stick

LOL I wish I could  Damn things not giving me my options back to add more :D I suppose it's like a ballot, you can't change the vote preferences after it's begun  Sorry

More fun using the 'extreme' fishing techniques anyway :D

RE: Re: RE: I just LUUURVE Fishing :)

You should try some salt water fly. It is unreal especialy with tuna of all varieties. I have only done it a few times but were pretty successful on all occassions. I love any sort of fishing but nothing can beat big game fishing. It is awesome.

Come on huggy, show us a pic of your trophy cabinet.....you know you want too!!

Seriously though for those that havent seen huggies trophies, they are quite impressive...not really the trophies themselves, but the weights of the fish on them!!!

RE: Re: RE: I just LUUURVE Fishing :)

I woul love to go fishing off a boat in the ocean, neva done that b4. the biggest fish i have ever caught was 65cm

Most people know where i stand with fishing, i go about 4 times a week, fly and lures mainly, but i have been known to float out a few live slimies from a few of my fav rock ledges :D

Nice Bass Swampie.....is that from Glenbawn? Is that a tinnaroo barra?

RE: Re: RE: I just LUUURVE Fishing :)

That Barramundi is just awesome Swampie!! :D

The most alarming thing about this post is that some ppl are choosing the last option

RE: Re: RE: I just LUUURVE Fishing :)

The bass is from Somerset Dam Qld (average size) and the barra was caught at Lake Monduran Qld ,both fish were caught on lures and were released to fight another day after taking a few happy snaps.

I love fishing, but never really get the time or the place. I usually go in Sydney harbour for flathead and leather jacket. I have been sport fishing a few times in Fiji, where i caught a few spanish mackeral and my favourite a GT, which was awsome. I really wanted to catch some mahi mahi (dolphin fish) but none were on the bite. Been freshwater fishing a few times without much luck.

Maybe all the Sydney members should go on a fishing trip lol.

Regards Alex

Your the man Swampie....good to see another catch and release fisho :)

Yeah Moose, flicking out the Fly freshwater style is the way i like it. Can't give up any of my top spots mate but the Swampy, Indi, Kiewa, Mitta and any of the streams that trickle into them are always good for a few rainbows and browns!! Yummmmm!! :)

RE: Re: RE: I just LUUURVE Fishing :)

Now you have me curious Where abouts have you been fishing mainly Hugmeister? What's been your most memorable trip?..or catch?
Well moosey, I have fished pretty much everywhere on the coast from Bega up to Nambucca Heads and done just about every type of fishing you can think of, from bottom bashing for blue eye cod on Browns Mountain in 1000+ feet of water to fly fishing for trout, trolling for Marlin and kingies, live baiting off the rocks and everything else in between.

I have too many stories to tell on here, about the ones that got away and the ones that didn't  . I have been dragged around the deck by huge tigers and almost had a mako land in my lap. I have scars on my hand from where I was "slapped" 10 feet across the deck of a boat by the tail of an enormous Mako shark. Some of my fav catches are mostly ligh tackle stuff 32kilo yellowfin on 8kg, 4.8kilo snapper on 2kg, 2.5kilo flatty on 1kg, 286kg tiger on 15 etc.etc. I am sure you get the piccy.

By the way did I mention I looooove fishing, but my favourite now is T&R.
I have let 100 times more fish go then what I have caught, some not willingly either....

Sorry about the ramble on but you picked my other favourite topic.

RE: Re: RE: I just LUUURVE Fishing :)

I once hooked a codd before even landing my bait in the water
