Sounds like burns and abrasions, is there anything particularly rough inside his enclosure? And as Melissa said, I'd have a cage around the heat sources if he's wrapping himself around the lights! Have you checked the temps inside the enclosure properly? Maybe he's doing this for extra heat as it may not be warm enough, even still, cage those lights!

Thals.

I don't think it would be abrasions from a rough surface just going by the info that the OP has shared, it appears that his python was wrapped around the globe, got burnt, and then fallen off.

If this is the case, then it is the fault of the owner and the problem needs to be rectified before further harm comes to the animal.

thanks for the replys yea there is a cage around the light nothing has changed in the enclosure he has been living in that tank for about 10 months that i no of and he was living in that tank before i got him and he 7 yrs old so i wood stay been in that tank a while its on a thermostat set a 30

No, it can happen any time.

Does your kitty litter get moist? What sort of kitty litter are you using? What are the temperatures in your enclosure, both warm end and cool end? Do you know what your humidity is at?

breeders choice cat litter no it doesnt get moist ,the light is only on 1 side of the tank up the top ,its around 30 degrees hot end and air temp the colds end not sure on the humidity sorry

Could be a number of things, and unless you answer the other questions that I've asked or at least provide a picture, then it is difficult to guess.

One thing I would strongly suggest though: get rid of the kitty litter and replace it with newspaper straight away - any particle-type substrate certainly isn't going to help with a possible infection (bleeding scales can be indicative of this).

i have answered all of ur questions that i can c ill try and work how to post a pic for u all ill change the litter to newspaper now

You posted at the same time as me so I didn't see it.

Keep the enclosure clean and dry, and if it gets any worse take it to a vet.

Honestly, it sounds a bit like blister desease. You said he has watery raised scales in patches? If there are little buldges of fluid around isolated patches of scales that'll be what it is. Temporarily you can treat with betadine but you should get him to a vet. Do you have a picture?

No chance.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA ;) waterrat

'Mate if you can ,see if a friend of yours can put a pic up for you ...at the moment its just guessing ...atleast with a few pics ,people get a better idea what it could be now ...but if you are that concerned as was said, vet check ..
