Was giving my adult females a bath today, Delilah always amazes me as she is like a little otter in the water, she dives under, tucks her front legs under her body, kicks her back legs and glides through the water, very graceful!! The others just flop around and never got the hang of swimming. Was wondering how many other peoples beardies are good swimmers?

Woh.. I like the look of your pets. Very nice.
I've never tried letting my beardies swim.. I've bathed them a couple of times but I think whilst they're little letting them 'swim' might be on par with them stressing about drowning as the smallest are only 15cms long.
Never thought that they could dive! How interesting...

My male Netted spends hours diving off his branch into the water dish. He tucks in like you describe Saz, puts his head under and starts swimming using his tail. He will then get out, dig around in the sand and start the process all over again...

My two babies also swim like Delilah, they have always had a very large but shallow water bowl, and they take a bath of their own accord every night before bed time. Weird I know.

If you have the water at a level that they can stand up in, they are fine. Gets all the crap they get on their tootsies off when running round the woodie tub. Also gives the little fatties a bit of exercise and helps keeps things moving along in their bowls!!

LOL Chanty!! That's hilarious! PICS!! The bubba netteds are getting big now. They are so fearless for animals so small!!

I first notice vitticeps liking water when in my outdoor pit I saw 3 of them in the water dish going around and around swimming ...panicking I took them out and no sooner I got out of the pit and looked back they were taking a dip again....that sight still makes me chuckle...they love water especially if it's warm water
Sandee :)

Hehe nice pics.
I used to have beardies in an outdoor enclosure and would fill there water bowl from the ouside with the hose, they'd all come running into the spray like kids with a sprinkler :)
But that may have just been because of all the bugs that got flushed out by the water...
Disclaimer: This was back in the day when we had water and were allowed to use it, now I refill there water bowls by squeezing the liquid from my washing ;)

Too true Sandee, actually I got some great footage of Luna having a morning bath in her waterbowl, I must uploda it to youtube, she's a cutie!!

Brat has settled in well. She's in on her own now as by the morning she was trying to boss Luna about and I walked in on them just about to have a tussle. She has had a bath, pedicure, and had a good feed last night. Wasn't interested in food today though.

Have checked and she definitely isn't gravid, she's just a porker LOL!

Hehehe ..I see Brat hasn't taken long to discard her winter "greys"
they never cease to fascinate me
Sandee :)

She has been coloured up ever since she arrived! She was even coloured in her sleep LOL!

Incredible little animals, aren't they

My pygmys have a shallow water bowl they can fully immerse, and a couple of them do tend to get in and swim around a bit. They can soak for ages.

I'm with ya Saz.
The trio i recently got from you love a swim.
Two of the especially mimik that which you have spoken of.
(p.s. one week on and they look to be making a great recovery.......will get pics to you very soon.....one of them is STUNNING).

Just saw this, really pleased they are doing well Twiggz, I want to see some pickies LOL!!

My 2 are pathetic. They are like a child at their first time at the Public Swimming Pool, they touch the water and try to run off crying... LOL. Truthfully, I havent given them a nice Bath in ages so they will get one this afternoon.

Now I want to give mine a bath/swim!
I've never seen them in their bowls but maybe that's because they're not big enough... Hmm.. Might steal some short baking dishes from the kitchen. :)

Nestor is so a fish too! i've caught him sleeping the night away in his so i ha to move it to the 'hot' end lol

Bug thinks shes a crocodile, shes a great underwater swimmer,...Chub sometimes dives, but mostly floats with her eyes closed,..

I fill the bathtub with about 15cms of warm water fro them every morning,...they love water,..!!
